Kisu Takki Cardigan
This project is designed to teach steeking techniques. It is knit in one piece to the shoulders. The neck is shaped. The method used for stabilizing the steeks is machine sewing, but the pattern is suitable for other methods, if desired.
The cardigan will fit a Gotz Happy Kidz doll or other slim doll. Adjustment to gauge will probably be needed for American Girl Dolls.
This pattern introduces two new techniques:
1) The two sleeves can be knit in one piece with steeks between, which requires you to cut them apart and seam them before sewing them into the armhole. (However, if you wish, you can pick up the sts around the armholes and knit down to the sleeve hem in the round.)
2) A collar and front bands are knitted so that they enclose the edges of the body of the sweater instead of ribbing.
Yarn requirements:
Approximately 231 yds of white, 221 yds of grey and 74 yds of green.
Other tools and notions: crochet hook small enough to fit through knitting at this gauge, 4 small metal clasps, stitch markers
