Kitaki Doily
This festive doily design resembles intricate window frames. In Kannada, (the language of my state) “kitaki” means window.
Beautiful doily patterns can evoke the charm of the traditional.
The doily can be made with any yarn and suitable hook. The finished size and the amount of yarn required will vary based on the kind of yarn used. The samples were made using Anchor Knitting Cotton with a 3 mm hook and Vinnis Nikkim Cotton yarn with a 4.5 mm hook. The finished diameter of the former is 32 cms (12.5”) across and the latter about 64 cms (25”).The doily curls when working but a firm blocking will straighten it out.
Testers projects are linked and you can see the variety of yarns and corresponding finished sizes.
