Skill Level
Beginner, but fun for all levels! The hat works up quickly and doesn’t take much yarn, so it makes a
great gift and is the perfect project for any leftover yarn you may have lying around.
Sizes
Instructions are written for size Infant, with color-coded changes for sizes Toddler, Child, and
Teen/Adult in parentheses.
Materials
Worsted weight yarn any brand. You don’t need large amounts. One skein of your main color should
be more than enough in just about any brand of yarn, however, if the yarn comes in especially small
skeins or in balls, you may want to grab two just to be safe. For your accent colors, you will need very
small amounts.
Color A: Main color (orange)
Color B: Inner cheeks and nose (hot
pink)
Color C: Outer cheeks (light pink)
Color D: Mouth embroidery (brown)
Crochet hook, size US G/4.00 mm,
or size needed to obtain gauge.
Two small buttons, about ½-inch in
diameter (or the size you prefer, it’s
your hat!)
Yarn needle, for weaving
