Klee Wyck was the nickname given to Emily Carr by the First Nations people of Ucluelet - it means “Laughing One”.
My Maori Motifs hat made covelady think of First Nations motifs, so I decided to make a couple of hats with a West Coast vibe.
Before I ever made it out West, my idea of the Canadian West Coast was formed by Emily Carr’s paintings - I find it amazing that some of those pictures date back over 100 years, yet they still seem so fresh and relevant.

Stranded/fairisle knitting, but still quite a quick knit.
2 charts are included so you can work with a light or dark background without having to do any mental gymnastics. ☻
