KLENOD
Klenod is a crescent shawl that reminds me of a pearl necklace with several different rows of gems - that family heirloom that you got from your granny and wear for special ­occasions. A ­beautiful rainbow or gradient yarn will ­complement the pearls and give them that extra spark. The entire shawl is knit in garter stitch with short rows, which makes it a ­project that anyone can execute.

The shawl starts with a small garter tab and then ­increases quickly on every row. A few simple solid colored rows ­separate the pearls, while the pearls are knit with short rows that are easy to memorize. The shawl is easy to make larger by just knitting more repeats of the charts.

Klenod is written for a locally produced Swedish yarn from the mini-mill Östergötlands ­ullspinneri. The yarns Visjö and ­Karamell are spun with wool from finewool sheep, a ­native ­heritage breed that has a very soft and crimpy wool ­resulting in a fabric that can be worn next to the skin. The ­colourway Karamell is a gorgeous gradient yarn that goes through the colours about three times per skein. It can be ordered from ­https­:­//­www.­ullspinneriet.­se/.
