This is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern (Now with both graph and written instructions), inspired by design elements by artist Gustav Klimt. Klimt liked swirls and floating tiles--much like mosaic pieces--in his paintings, and this is a tribute to his aesthetic.

The stitches are basic SC and DC mosaic method. There are two vertical charts which can be used one after the other for as long as you want to make the pattern. I did 1, 2, 1 for my sample, with 5 repeats wide.

3/DK/Sport or 4/Worsted is recommended, 4, 4.5, or 5mm needle (depending on yarn and your own personal tension).
