Ribbed socks with calf shaping, very warm and very comfortable! Calf shaping can be customized for a more expansive or tighter fit. This pattern uses a short row heel.

Note The socks pictured were originally knit in 2009. Five years later, they are still holding up well!

You should be familiar with Magic 8 cast-on or similar for getting started with socks from the toe-up.

This pattern assumes you know how to Knit, Purl, Kf&b (knit into front and back of same stitch), W&T (wrap stitch and turn work), and work 2tog/3tog decreases in knits or purls.
