Knick Knack Bowl
A simple bowl that could be used for all sorts of little things, from balls of scrap yarn to your favorite candy. It’s a great project for learning how to knit in the round or for showing off striped yarn since it uses basic stitches and isn’t very large!
As written, the bowl should come out to be about 3 3/4 inches high, with a 6 inch circumference. I knit pretty densely, so if you knit loosely, you may need to go down a needle size or two so that the bowl will stand up by itself without needing to be felted. Enjoy the pattern!
Materials
Worsted weight yarn
Size 7 DPNs
Tapestry Needle
Stitches Used
K – Knit
P – Purl
YO – Yarn Over
M1 – Make One
Techniques Used
Knitting in the round with DPNs (Double Pointed Needles)
Casting on DPNs with a small number of stitches
Backwards loop cast on (optional)
Optional
Use M1 in place of YO, depending on the size of the objects you plan on putting in the bowl. YO’s will create a lacy bottom, while M1’s will make it more closed.
Erratum
The pattern reads “Cast on 6 stitches” when it should read “Cast on 8 stitches.”
