Designed for the 2024 James River Yarn Crawl, this cowl takes its inspiration from the River itself. The mighty James is the longest river in the state of Virginia at 348 miles and is bordered by numerous trails, wildlife refuges and parks. If you’re a fan of water sports, the James River offers everything from peaceful tubing trips to high energy white water rafting & kayaking in up to Class IV Rapids.

The stitches used in this pattern are meant to represent the urban rapids of the downtown Richmond, Virginia area which give way to the calmer waters that flow to the Chesapeake Bay.

Knickpoint is worked flat on the bias and then seamed together along the short edges to form a cowl. Instructions are included for an alternate ending if you would prefer a scarf instead.
