My son asked for a knight helmet for his birthday, so of course I had to knit one! The design that I came up with includes a feathered plume, bobble rivets, and a ribbed visor.

The basic hat is knitted in the round from the bottom up. The other parts are knitted flat separately and then sewed together.
The visor is shaped by short rows and can be worn down or folded up.

It is made with approx 80 grams of worsted weight yarn. However, it would be easily customised by adjusting yarn weight or needle size.

You will need a 3-5 feathers for the plume, or you can get creative and make it out of something else!

Instructions are included for making bobbles.

NOTE: I have seen quite a few projects where people mentioned that the hat came out much smaller than expected. I don’t have time to check the numbers at the moment, but you might want to cast on a larger number than the pattern currently suggests. :)
