"Knit" Beanie
Whew! That was tough! I wasn’t even sure if I would make it through this one or in- clude it. But I absolutely love this hat. It’s super on trend with the graphic lettering. I understand this pattern might not be for everyone because there is just a lot going on. I am here to help.
Lettering
We start with our letting on the purl side of the hat. This is because the hat is not re- versible (which is a main reason for the confusion I think). So we want our color B strings to be on the “wrong side” and our letters to be perfect on the “right side.”
Now, if you notice, our Purl rows are our even numbered rows which is why we are constructing our letters upside down and backwards, that way when we ip this part for the hat the letters will read correctly. I think once you understand how to do this conceptually you’ll be ne. If you don’t believe me you can always do trial and error. Which is what I did, so…I think that it’s a little easier to do the letters looking at a graphic, so I made a little visual of how the purl rows should go.
