Knit Felted Waldorf Doll
This (dressing) doll is super easy, fun and quick to make. No knitting or felting experience needed and you need only one ball of yarn! (the rest is optional)
We will knit this little friend flat in stockinette stitch, bottom to top, starting with the feet. Then it’s time to felt! I haven’t included elaborate felting instructions, because there are so many good instructions out there. After felting we shape and stuff. You now have a doll with a round head. If you like, you can shape the head and there are also instructions to make hair, eyes, a mouth and a pointy hat.
YARN (a total of 50gr/1.75oz is enough)
- DROPS Snow in desired skin colour.*
- DROPS Snow in desired clothes colour (optional).*
- (Boucle) yarn in hair colour (optional).
- Yarn in eye, mouth and/or pointy hat colour (optional). If you use different yarn, make sure it’s suitable for felting.
OTHER
- Knitting needles 7mm or 8mm (US11).
- +/- 50gr (1.75oz) filling wool
- Embroidery needle
- Thread for shaping
- Scissors
- Hot water and soap
- Kitchen gloves
Happy doll making!
