Pattern includes instructions for ribbed or rolled brim. You can also use worsted or bulky weight yarn.

Please keep in mind, when using the bulky yarn (pictured) the ribbon design is larger and more “stylized” than when using worsted weight yarns. Also, for this singular ribbon design, the sample was knit using a Fair Isle technique but we just carried the yarn across the back to the start of the next row.
