I have a little girl who loves anything fuzzy and warm. Honestly, so do I. I could imagine nothing more fun than making an afghan out of that fun furry yarn. This pattern is the result of that project. The wonderful thing about this afghan is that you can personalize it to suit your tastes or just make a fun afghan out of leftovers. That’s what I love the most!

<p>Yarn:

You’ll need a base yarn for the afghan. I used Red Heart Super Saver in Black. It took me four 7-oz skeins to make the throw size (42” x 50”). Then, comes the fun part. Add in the fur yarn! I used scraps from my stash to make this fun afghan in squares. If you want to purchase fur yarn for this project, you’ll need about 1200 yards of the stuff. I’d suggest using fur yarns with about the same weight, or you’ll end up with a gauge problem and some puckering in the afghan.

<p>Finished dimensions:

Length: 50”

Width: 42”

Each strip you work is 10” wide, so you can adjust the throw size to suit your needs.

<p>Gauge: approximately 12.5 sts/4” in garter stitch using both yarns.

<p>Needles:
You’ll need size US13 needles (or whatever size you need to meet gauge). You can use either straight or circular needles as you work this throw one strip at a time. That makes it a fun, portable project! You’ll also need a size J crochet hook for seaming the strips together and a yarn needle for weaving in the ends.
