Meterage/Yardage Estimates for the Maxi Length Dress
Please see the charts in the project page for an estimate on how much yarn you will require based on your height (and also the assumption you will be knitting it to ankle length for the back piece, and about 1~1.5”/2.54-3.8cm shorter for the front piece). Please be mindful this is an estimate only and the exact measurements for each individual can vary based on the length of the bodice as well.
Knit Girl Summer is a 2-in-1 top and dress pattern. This pattern is suitable for knitters of all levels. I have chosen to add metal hardware to the strap ends, and the pattern includes links on where you can purchase the same materials as well as provide additional ideas on finishing.
Techniques used: stockinette stitch, working in the round, picking up stitches, increasing stitches, decreasing stitches, icord
The top can be worn fitted or you can knit a size or two larger than your full bust for a more oversized fit. For the dress, you should select your full bust size.
The dress is worked bottom up in the round beginning at the folded waist band. The front and backs of the bodice are identical and the decreases will continue until the icord tie straps are complete. Stitches are then picked up at the waist band and the skirt is worked from the top down before separating near the end for a short side split. The top version of this pattern is simply the bodice of the dress.
