I love this style of hat/scarf combination, and have been knitting them for my children for years!

Tying the scarf helps keep the hat on, and it adds extra warmth.

It’s also nice to just have to grab one garment before heading out into the elements, not a separate hat AND scarf!

We’re an “outside family,” spending a TON of time outdoors in all seasons, so staying warm is a must!

That’s why this cozy bonnet style hat with an attached scarf is my favorite hat -- I always reach for it first!

Plus, nothing looks more darling in my eyes than seeing my children bundled up cozily with this style of hat framing their little faces.

I wrote out this pattern so that it can be easily adjusted to fit sizes from baby to adult.

It uses worsted weight yarn (weight 4) and 4.5mm knitting needles (US 7). The amount of yarn needed will vary depending on what size you make.
