This is pattern will knit up some very cute lion cubs, each about 9 inches tall if you use sport-weight yarn. However, using bigger yarn and needles will yield a bigger lion, which would also be fun!

This is a VERY simple pattern, knitted in the round.

The body and head are knitted as one piece and the arms, legs, tails, noses, ears, and manes are sewn on after knitting separately.

I love this pattern because it’s quick and I was able to knit both lions from one skein of yarn. (my original skein was 600 yds of body color, but I did not use all of it)

I also used safety eyes, but you could embroider them if you felt like it.
