If you want to make this sweater for a boy, just use normal big buttons instead of flowers and instead of scallop edging work one more rnd of sc or any other edging you prefer.

Sizes:
I suggest to work with sport weight yarn and crochet hook 3,5 mm (E) to make it in size 1-3 months, or with DK-weight yarn and crochet hook 3,75 (F) for size 6-9 months.
Finished Chest:
1-3 months (6-9 months) – 17 (21)in. or 43 (53.5) cm
Finished Length:
1-3 months (6-9 months) – 9 (10)in. or 23 (25) cm

But actually this sweater can be very easily made in any size. In the pattern I explain how.

Materials:
 150 gr DK weight yarn
(I used 100% merino wool) or 120gr sport weight yarn
 crochet hook 3,75mm (F) or (3,5mm (E), if you are working with sport weight yarn) or size needed to obtain gauge
 very small amount of contrasting colour yarn for flowers (or two big buttons)
 thread and needle
