The figures are knit using fingering weight yarn and size 3 (3.25 mm) needles. The standing figures are each formed with a plastic foam cone for the body, plastic foam ball for the head, and chenille stick for the arms.

Supplies 16 colors of yarn are recommended, but not mandatory, with the majority being white, flesh, cream, teal, and wine. Also required are plastic foam cones and balls, chenille sticks, lace, glue, metallic thread, felt squares, miniature gifts, and tinsel sticks.
