Knit Sleeve for Watercolor Brush Cleaning
Hello. I am showing you what I made to help me with my watercolor painting.
All the containers I have ever bought to clean the brushes didn’t work for me. They were either separate from the palette and I would have to find a stable place to put them or they were attached to the palette making it more cumbersome.
What I made to help me is basically a loosely knit sleeve just wide enough to hold a recycled small glass container that used to have capers in it.
In the pictures you can see that I overestimated the length of the center part and I had to shorten it. Knowing your gauge and exact measurements helps. ;)
To use the sleeve fill the containers with water, screw on the lids, place them in their pouches and drape the sleeve over your leg, dangling containers on each side. Carefully take off the lids and enjoy painting with clean brushes.
To not leave a trace in nature I take the dirty water back home with me to discard safely.
A similar sleeve could be crocheted or sewn. I hope you’ll experiment and share your experiences ;).
Thanks for reading.
