This is knitting pattern suitable for intermediate to experienced knitters, and involves the following techniques:
- Making I-cord
- Working in the round
- Increases (yo and M 1) and Decreases (k 2 tog and slip 1, k 1, psso)
- Magic Cast-On (a how-to for this technique is included with the pattern, along with directions for replacing it with easier techniques if desired)
- Kitchener Stitch (suggested, but not required)
- Basic color work (Shrimp Nigiri pattern only)-- suitable for working stranded, or with duplicate stitches
For reference, the plate in the photo measures about 9.5 inches x 9.5 inches. Most individual sushi pieces are about 1.75” to 2.5” across.
