A simple yet elegant cowl that is a delight to knit. I always have one of my needles for social knitting, while watching soccer games to keep me from being “that mom,” or peaceful morning knitting that brings me into the right place before beginning my day.

The stitch is easily memorized, allowing this to be the perfect piece for mindful knitting. There are simple rounds of knitting that allow your mind to wander, yet the following rounds allow you to slow down and focus on your project. A rhythm is found in the final round of the stitch pattern, providing the perfect opportunity to recite a prayer, meditation, affirmation, or to practice deep breathing.

Any light fingering weight yarn can be used to achieve a cowl of similar size as the one shown here. Approximately 400 yds is needed of a light fingering weight yarn so let that guide your yarn choice.
