Prima has joined with the British Hedgehog Preservation Society to help save our prickly pals and we’re asking for your help.

Hedgehogs are disappearing fast from our countryside. Since 2000, the number living in the UK has plummeted by half in rural areas and a third in urban ones. Last year, research showed there are only around 1m left. Increased road traffic, loss of habitat and use of pesticides are all to blame, but you can make a difference.

We know Prima readers are creative so we’ve come up with a crafty idea! We’re asking all you knitters out there to knit a hedgehog using this exclusive pattern. Then, send your knitted toy to us at Prima Hedgehog, House of Hearst, 30 Panton Street, London, SW1Y 4AJ. We’ll then forward your hedgehogs the charity to send to members of the public in return for donations. It couldn’t be easier.
