When diving in the DIY world I look for simplicity, color and texture. I like projects that are easy to make but are intriguing in some way. You can enhance an item in a various ways. That said, if you have a simple form you need to press a bit on the color or pattern. Otherwise it will just look plain. This is what I am looking for in my pillow line this fall – simple, but with a bit of sophisticated look.

Materials:
3 skeins of bulky yarn in coordinating colors. I used a wool/acrylic blend (49% wool, 51% acrylic), 100 g/140 m (around 153 yards).
7 mm (10 ½ US) cable needle
3 wooden buttons
18 x 18 in Ikea pillow for insert
A big tapestry needle

It’s an easy and fast going project.
