Knitted Star Motif
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
This is a simple star motif which can be made in any weight yarn with the appropriate sized needles (go up one or two sizes from the suggested needle size). Use it as a coaster, or as an applique etc…
Made from the centre-out on DPNs or circular needles, the star is then finished by adding five individual points which are worked flat. In order to see the pattern properly, a little blocking is needed as this will open out the increases and decreases.
Materials:
- 6.5g Scheepjes Lizzy
- 3.25 mm DPNs / circular needles for knitting in-the-round
- Pins for blocking
- Optional: embellish with beads or sequins
Stitches used:
- Knit and purl
- Kfb = knit front and back increase
- K2tog = knit 2 stitches together (right-leaning decrease)
- Skpsso = slip one stitch, knit one stitch, pass the slipped stitch over the knit stitch (left-leaning decrease)
