Knobby Scarf
This pattern makes a textured fabric with a knobby or chain link type appearance across the rows. It can be used to make any rectangular object (scarf, stole, blanket, etc) with an easy-to-remember one-row repeat. The pattern includes written instructions and a chart of the first two rows.
Stitches and Abbreviations Used:
CH = Chain
SL ST = Slip Stitch
HDC = Half Double Crochet
Gauge Notes:
With yarn and hook indicated above, twelve stitches in pattern = 4 inches, 14 rows in pattern = 4 inches. This will vary with your specific tension, yarn, and hook choices.
With this gauge, the scarf was 7.5 inches wide, and I made it 60 inches long.
Approximate rows and yardage to achieve desired length (based on stated gauge):
Length (Inches) / Rows Needed / Est Yardage
48 inches / 168 rows / 360 yards
60 inches / 210 rows / 450 yards
72 inches / 252 rows / 540 yards
Please do not sell any finished objects made from this pattern online. Selling finished items at in-person venues, such as craft fairs and similar events, or as an individual (person-to-person) is permitted as long as credit for the pattern is given.
