Knock-Out Mittens
This mitten pattern was designed for the Core-Spun Yarn by Old Mill Alpacas. This is a very unique yarn from a very special place. Old Mill is a small alpaca farm in rural Ontario, in Canada. Here, there is a happy herd of alpacas who produce the softest of fibres. The Old Mill is also a spinning mill that specializes in the core-spun spinning technique. To make the core-spun yarn the alpaca fibre is spun around a thread-thin core yarn. This makes a fluffy and lofty yarn that is generously textured. It has a very unusual stitch and row gauge that is hard to find in other yarns and patterns, so The Knit Cafe has created this pattern especially for the Old Mill Alpacas Core-Spun Yarn. This was no hardship! This yarn is so fun to make things with. It knits up in a flash and it is so soft on the hands.
This pattern for super chunky mittens resemble wooly boxing gloves so we called it “Knock Out Mittens”. The mittens are knit in rounds with no seaming and experienced knitters will finish them in a matter of hours. This pattern feature knit stitches only, no purling! Enjoy!
