About

KNOT is a top-down triangle shape shawl. The two main patterns were inspired by ancient motifs from Chinese culture, one from a knot and the other from the pattern of curl cloud. This shawl starts with an I-cord border, then working with charts to form the main body, and using I-cord bind off to create a neat edge.

The sample used 5 different colours of lace weight yarn, knitted with double stands. You can use fingering weight yarn for this shawl as well. The suggested amounts of yarn that you would use in different progress is on page 3 as a reference for you to prepare in advance.

The pattern includes symmetric and asymmetric versions. Add 115m for both Colour 1 and Colour 5 (for lace weight, add 230m), if you prefer to knit a symmetric version.

Finished size
168 cm (66”) in length and 75 cm (29.5”) in width after blocking

＊3.5 mm 100 cm/32” circular needles.
＊1 distinct marker to indicate the center of the shawl
＊Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
＊Tape measure

Yarns
You can use laceweight-held double, or any fingering/SOCK weight yarn for this shawl

You will need 5 colors, around 490 m(536 yards) each if using lace weight held double strands, 250 m(273 yards) each if using fingering/SOCK weight.

結，為不對稱的三角形披肩，主要的圖樣以華夏文化的繩結、秦漢時期紡織的雲雷紋，為靈感來源。

披肩以 I-cord 做起針與收邊，中間加入以馬賽克技法排列的紋樣，最後以 I-cord 收邊。

示範的成品以 5 個顏色的高原，拉雙股編織，交錯使用。織圖附有各色在不同階段的使用量，可做為估算用量的參考。
