Here is my version of a popular style- Granny stitches and shells! I have color coded this pattern for sake of easy reading, and should be doable for beginners!

This pattern was intended to be used with Red Heart Unforgettable, however it can be made with any yarn brand or weight from worsted weight and lighter. Just remember to pick a hook larger than the yarn calls for to achieve a lovely effect that drapes nicely.
