The Australian Koala Baby Vest is a close-fitting sleeveless vest knitted back and forth in stocking stitch. The vest features an intarsia colour image on the front, button placket on left shoulder, rib bindings for the neck and armholes. Basic chart reading and a small amount of sewing is required. The chart comes with full written instructions and the pattern has been professionally Tech Edited to assure you of a more accurate pattern.

This vest is ideal for beginners to advanced beginners. It’s a quick knit for experienced knitters and makes a perfect gift for Aussie babies or koala lovers around the world.

Sizes
0-3mths, 3-6mths, 6-9mths, 9-12mths, 12-18mths, 18-24mths.

Gauge for 10cm x 10cm
Stocking stitch 28 sts x 36 rows.

Yarn
Fingering weight yarns: 2 x 50g balls Main Colour (MC)
or in Metres 190 (210, 240, 260, 290, 320)
1m of dark brown, 6m of grey, 6m of white or cream.
Optional: 12m of Lace weight white mohair to make the koala fur even more fluffy.
Yarn measurements are an estimate only and will vary depending on yarn used and your personal style of knitting.

MC: Patons baby dreamtime merino 4ply 100% merino fingering weight, colour Mint 3879.
CC: Morris and Sons Estate 4ply 100% Australian wool, colours Robot 4049, Macadamia 4003, Mouse 4008.
Fibre Arts Shed Kidsilk 2ply lace weight mohair/silk 50g 420m white.

3.25mm straight or circular needles
2.75mm circular needle or double pointed needles (DPN) for bindings
2 x 15mm buttons
Darning needle
Open lock stitch markers
Stitch holders or waste yarn to hold stitches not in use.
