I love the texture of this diamond lace stitch pattern! We see many lace diamonds in stockinette stitch, and the purl stitches in this version make the diamonds pop. Add beads for some bling.
When I have a hard time coming up with a name for a design, I show my husband and ask him what he sees. He thought the design looks like the scales of Rainbow Fish from the children’s book. My daughter loved reading this book so I went with the fish theme to name this design.
“Koi” is a Japanese word that also means love or affection. Knit this cowl for someone special, and they will feel so loved!
Swatch yarn and extra yarn are included in the yarn requirement for each size. Any adjustments will affect the yarn yardage and bead requirement. Gauge is not critical for this pattern, however, a different gauge will affect the size of your cowl and the amount of yarn and beads used.
This pattern can be worked with or without beads. Circumference and width can be adjusted - see pattern for instructons.
Thank you to Eva and Seismic Yarn for their generous yarn support!
