Koji the tiger
This is a .pdf crochet pattern, written in standard American crochet terms. With this rather easy pattern, you can make a beautiful, realistic looking playful crochet tiger amigurumi.
Size of finished animal
5.8 inch / 14,8 cm sitting when made with worsted weight yarn.
Materials needed
For this tiger you need worsted weight yarn and an E US/3.5 mm crochet hook. You need three colours of yarn, orange (1/4 of 100 yard skein), white (1/6) and black (1/10). I never use black but the darkest brown possible. For the eyes I’ve used 8 mm animal eyes, and I needle-felted a nose (a bit wider than the eyes), but any other kind works too. You will also need fibrefill, pellets for a bit of extra weight in the body (I use Hama beads) and a pipe cleaner for the tail is optional. Lopi colour numbers: 1410 (1704), 0051 and 0052.
The crochet pattern contains
An intro with useful info. List of materials, tools and accessories needed. Brand and colour numbers of the needed yarn. A clear and colour coded description of how to crochet and assemble the animal. Pictures and illustrations to help getting everything right. All my patterns are text edited for correct English and have been tested by an experienced crocheter before publishing.
Yarn
Istex Lett lopi. I strongly recommend using a fuzzy yarn because it gives the best result.
Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. If the pieces are crocheted tightly enough, they will not gape visibly when stuffed. You can make a little test swap to be sure.
