A feminine and simple crescent shaped shawlette worked in an easy broken rib pattern to create the length of it. Afterwards, stitches are picked up with lace yarn and worked in stockinette stitch from the side of the shawlette to create a slight (airy) ruffle, and an I-cord is worked for a beautiful edge. It’s totally reversible and can be worn either with the lace or broken rib pattern close to the face.

Size:
The shawlette is approx. 200cm/79” in length and 26cm/10.25” wide after wet blocking.

Yarn:
The sample shown is worked with 2 qualities of yarn.
MC: 330m/363y of worsted weight silk-merino yarn Angelina from Lang yarn 151m/165y for 50g/1.76oz
CC: 106m/115y of lace weight silk-mohair yarn from Isager 212m/232y for 25g/0.88oz
Other yarns can be used, but keep in mind that using other yarn qualities might lead to a different overall look of the shawlette. Look at all my fantastic test knitters versions with different yarns and gauge!
It will affect the amount of yarn needed, if you knit the shawlette longer, wider or with another gauge.

Materials:
5.0mm/US 8 and 80cm/32” circular needle Removable stitch-markers to mark the inc/dec rows

Gauge:
19 sts x 22 rows over 10cm x 10cm/4” x 4” in broken rib pattern using MC
