12 sts (1 patt rep wide) and 12 rows (1 patt rep high) in lace patt from Chart A meas 3¼“ wide and 2½” high using middle-size needle, after blocking; 14 sts (1 patt rep wide) and 12 rows (1 patt rep high) in lace patt from Chart B meas 4½“ wide and 3¼” high using largest needle, after blocking. Take time to save time, check your gauge.
Notes
The ribbed upper band and ties are worked first in one piece. Stitches for the lace section are picked up along the edge of the band and worked downwards. Increases and a change in needle size cause the lower edge to flare.
