Korshavn Balaclava
Korshavn Balaclava is worked back and forth in basket weave according the chart on a long circular needle. First, you work the balaclava’s top, where after you pick up stitches along the side edges. Work back and forth in pattern, before you close the balaclava to the round and work the neck’s ribbing. Finally, you pick up stitches along the face opening and work these stitches in rib in the round. The knit stitches are worked through the back loop and all stitches are cast off with the Italian method with double face.
Check the sizes and measurements first. Get familiar with the chart and the structure, before you start knitting. Knit a gauge swatch first, so that you hit the correct gauge. Take measurements after washing and blocking. You might have to change the needle size to hit the correct gauge.
