Kraken Octopus Mittens
⚓Who wouldn’t love to have a Kraken good pair of Octopus mittens!?!⚓
Are you a knitter looking for a super cool Cephalopod mitten knitting pattern to make that perfect gift for that friend who’s just crazy about tentacles? You know who I’m talking about. Or maybe you are the person who loves both knitting and Octopuses - I won’t judge, it means you are just like me!
Inspired by a lovely Octopus named Victoria in a catch and release aquarium in Ucluelet, BC that I had the pleasure to meet (Check them out! They are so cool.) this Kraken Octopus mitten knitting pattern is recommended for intermediate knitters familiar with reading charts and stranded colorwork. The pattern is on a downloadable PDF digital file and includes instructions and easy to follow design charts.
One of the great things about Octopuses is that they can be any color so you can’t go wrong! You can knit these mittens in any two contrasting colors in the yarn of your choice. I had fun knitting these in contrasting yarns that slowly changed color. The mittens pictured were knit using sock / fingering weight and US size 1 / 2mm needles for a women’s large / men’s medium size but you could easily use smaller needles to make a women’s small / teen-size mitten.
