Kreiners coat
Is it possible to transfer other sorts of crafts into knit-work?
I’m lucky to know many craftsmen, working with their art in different materials. One of them is Katja Kreiner. She can weave the most amazing baskets out of willow, and a basket is not just a basket - each one is unique and braided with love and personal radiance.
The coat is worked with 2 threads of light fingering wool 370 yd (350 meter) / 50 g.
If you prefer working with one thread only, use sport weight wool 185 yd (175 m) / 50 g.
Materials:
650 / 700 / 750 / 800 g wool
32” circular needle size US 8 (5 mm)
1 set of double pointed needles size US 8 (5 mm)
1 cable needle size US 8 (5 mm)
4 stitch markers
Kreiners coat is worked back and forth in ribpattern with cables, beginning with the body, then sleeves, and finally joined in a raglan yoke with shawl collar. The coat has nice deep pockets integrated in the body. All edges are icorded.
