SKILLS
To knit this hat you need to know how to cast on
stitches with any method, although the long tail caston
is recommended, to knit, purl, and work in the
round, to be familiar with the stranded colourwork
technique, to work following charted instructions, to
make decreases and to bind off stitches. It is essential
to be able to follow charted instructions, as they are
used for the colourwork detail of the body of the hat
and written instructions are not provided.
CONSTRUCTION
This hat is worked bottom-up in the round, starting
with the ribbing, then the body of the hat is worked
in colourwork and finally the crown is shaped with
decreases, where working with magic loop or double
pointed needles is recommended.
GAUGE
22 stitches and 32 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
stockinette stitch, without blocking.
26 stitches and 30 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
colourwork motif, without blocking.
24 stitches and 28 rounds in 10 x 10 cm 4 x 4” in
colourwork motif, after blocking.
YARN
2 skeins, 1 in Colour 1 (main colour) and 1 in Colour
2 (contrast colour) of Merino DK by Hedgehog
Fibres (100% Superwash Merino; 200 m / 100
g; 218 yd / 3.52 oz). With 2 skeins you will have
enough yarn to knit two hats with inverted colours
in any size.
The colourways used are Stone and Harajuku for the
cream / pink version, and Coral and Cedar for the
pink / blue version.
NEEDLES
4 mm US 6 circular needles with a cable length
of 40 cm 16”, or the required needle size to obtain
gauge. 4 mm US 6 DPNs or circular needles with
a longer cable to work the crown in magic loop.
OTHER NOTIONS
1 stitch marker for the beginning of the round. Tapestry
needle to weave in ends.

Para tejer este gorro es necesario saber montar puntosmediante cualquier método, aunque se recomienda elde la hebra larga, tejer en circular, punto del derechoy del revés, conocer la técnica del colourwork, tejersiguiendo un gráfico, realizar disminuciones y cerrarpuntos. tejer dos gorros en colores invertidos en cualquier talla.
Los colores utilizados son el Stone y el Harajuku para
la versión crema / rosa y el Coral y el Cedar para la
versión rosa / azul.
AGUJAS
Agujas circulares de 4 mm US 6 con cable de 40
cm 16” o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de
tensión. Agujas de doble punta de 4 mm US 6 o
circulares con el cable más largo para poder trabajar la
coronación en magic loop.
