This is the sister pattern for my Nunna blanket. If folded in half, it can be used as a shawl as well.
Here I take the squares and rectangles one step further. Instead of working identical squares, I composed a pattern of rectangles and squares in 2 different sizes. The inspiration comes from Latvian textile tradition.
The blanket starts in one corner with one square and ends in the opposite corner. The size of blanket itself is highly adaptable as you work, depending on the yarn of your choice and intended recipient. It has lovely scalloped edging that complements its geometry.
This is fairly complex multi-shape entrelac blanket pattern. If you are new to this kind of pattern, I recommend starting with similar but easier Emma. If you are looking for a triangular shawl pattern with this geometry, look for my Anne shawl.
