“Has anyone ever told you that the configuration and juxtaposition of your features is extraordinarily apposite?” - Kryten
Kryten has some rather sharp features himself. The kind that inspires one to design a geometric pattern that repeats down the leg of a sock. Just me? Well, maybe. I’ve loved Red Dwarf ever since I discovered the books, and then the TV series back in high school in the early 90s. This is not my first design inspired by the show, and quite possibly won’t be the last. But it is the first that is top down with a heel flap and my signature double gusset. Let’s knit some socks, shall we? After all, It’s cold outside, there’s no kind of atmosphere…
This pattern introduces the double knit heel flap. You’ll think you’re picking up way too many stitches once you’re done, but trust me on this. Your sock may look funny, but when you put it on, it’ll fit like a glove with a nice cushy heel flap that will feel oh so nice in your shoes.
This pattern also features my signature Double Gusset Heel, as well as a squared toe.
This pattern is currently exclusive to the member of the 2019 Rockin Sock Club by Blue Moon Fiber Arts. It will be available to the general public on February 1st, 2020.
