CONSTRUCTION
This boxy sweater has a relaxed fit and dropped shoulders. The pieces are knitted flat from the bottom up and later seamed together with simple backstitches. Seaming brings more structure to the sweater. You begin with working the back and front pieces with a 2 x 2 Ribbing as well as the sleeves. Then, the other shoulder is seamed and the neckline is worked in 2 x 2 Ribbing. Once the neckline is completed, the other shoulder is seamed. The sleeves are attached and the sleeve and side seams worked.
MODIFICATIONS
This is a great project to use left-overs! Pick for instance a neutral colour, such as grey or white, as the main colour and combine it with different contrasting-coloured yarns of the same weight.
As front and back pieces are worked without any waist or bust shaping, it’s easy to modify the size: you can make the sweater longer or more cropped or add ease to the sleeves.
