Kuroyuri is an elegant crocheted scarf comprised of panels of flowery lace.

Designed for the 2020 Progress, Hope & Happiness Collection Tokyo Bound, Kuroyuri was inspired by the Voie de Vie Yarns Paint ‘n Rinse Series Peach Lantern colourway and the beautiful botanical gardens found throughout Japan.

Kuroyuri is made up of panels of flowers separated by bands of single and double crochet stitches and finished with a coordinating border and pretty raindrop edging. The scarf is worked in rows from side to side with a border added to the long edges. A neat raindrop edging finishes off the ends.

The sample is 68.5 inches by 8.5 inches (174 cm by 21 cm) but the scarf is completely customizable both in width and length by working more or fewer repeats of the Kuroyuri Lily stitch pattern in each panel and by varying the length of the panels.

The pattern refers to right and wrong sides but in fact the scarf is fully reversible and looks equally pretty from both sides.

The directions for the stitch patterns used are given first, followed by the instructions for the scarf itself.
