The Kuukivet Hat is a twist on the traditional beanie, with a playful touch of bobbles, an ode to the elusive moonstone. The top is a touch longer than you’d think, leaving room to grow or a little slouch on top. Add a pompom for an extra fun!

Inspiration for the name came from a trip to the coast in my home state of Washington. The beach was full of sand dollars, stones, gravel, wood, shells, and agates, as well as rockhounds like me, hoping to find even just one moonstone. Many beautiful white sea-tumbled quartz stones were found on the beach but alas, no moonstones, The first Kuukivet hat came to life on my needles later that evening by the campfire with friends.
