Kuura socks is an all over cable sock pattern. The sock got it’s inspiration from the love towards cables, as I wanted to include different types of cable patterns and combine them into one garment. The name “Kuura” means rime or frost in Finnish.
The pattern was firstly introduced as 2024 MKAL in collaboration with Jule from woollentwine fibrestudio. The sock pattern really challenge you on cables and to create a stunning pair of socks for the upcoming winter.
Knitted cuff down, this sock includes different cable charts, which are worked on the top of the sock as well as the back of the cuff and heel.
The heel is worked using a french heel construction. Heel flap is worked with a cable chart, which gives a nice detail to it.
Toe decreases are worked with a cable chart, so the decreases are integrated to the cable chart. Lastly the rest of the stitches are grafted using Kitchener stitch method.
