KYOTO BLOUSE

Kyoto Blouse is a fine, 50’es inspired blouse with romantic puff sleeves and a delicate ribbing neckline. The blouse is a relatively fitted knit and it’s knit top-down which makes it easier to adjust the length.

The combination of the lovely yarn bases (knit on 6 mm needles) makes this blouse perfect for spring and autumn days – and winters not to forget.

The pattern comes in eight different sizes; from XXS to 3XL and it’s knit both flat on the top and in the round for the major part of the body and sleeves. The pattern is a difficulty level 3 out of 5 and uses techniques like German short rows, increases and decreases, picking up sts, and Italian/tubular bind off.

The blouse takes its shape from first the rectangular knitted back which is knit flat. Then first left and then right front pieces are knit with increases to shape the V-neck and armholes. At the end the three pieces are connected and you continue the rest of the blouse knitting in the round. As a final touch the silkmohair ribbing edge is added to the neckline and finished with Italian bind off.

Last but not least you pick up sts for the sleeves, which comes in a smaller puff version (pictured here) and a larger puff version. You only need to decide which variation, you prefer :-)

SIZES
The pattern comes in sizes XXS (tween) to 3XL. The chest circumference ranges from 82,5 cm to 132,5 cm depending on the size.

The fit is relatively tight, with negative or no ease to give the most fitted look. You can of course knit it with positive ease, but beware that shoulder puffs are placed correctly and not ‘falling down’ on the shoulders.

MATERIALS
I have used three different yarn bases for the Kyoto Blouse;

Malabrigo Merino Worsted - 192 m / 100 g.
Silkmohair from By Emra (who is not listed here in Ravelry) - 420 m / 50 g.
Stellaris from Kremke Soul Wool - 525 m / 25 g to give the blouse a sparkle.

The combination of the three bases gives a gauge of 16 sts / 25 rows. You can easily replace any of the bases with one with similar gauge or choose a different weight that gives the same gauge.
