La Belle Rose
This Tam is a beautiful tribute to Notre Dame.
I used Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift that is absolutely perfect to use for colour-work as each ball is only 25grams.
The brim is worked in corrugated rib.
This tam is standard colour-work and also using 3 or more colours.
Instructions are as simple as can be for shaping the crown with a centered double decrease.
This hat can be blocked and stretched into a beanie or
using an 11 inch plate to create a slouchy tam.

Yarn Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift (105m / 115yds per 25gram ball)

Yardage altogether:105g - 441m. Two balls of Natural White. (main colour) 40g One ball of each of the following shades: Birch 15g, Bramble 15g, Dog Rose 5g, Highland Mist 5g, Moss 5g, Pacific 5g, Storm 15g.

Gauge 8 stitches per inch, achieved on 3.5mm needles / US 4 (A smaller needle is achievable to obtain gauge size)

Needles 40cm / 16inch 3.5mm / US 4 40cm / 16inch 3.25mm / US 3 1 x 8inch 3.5mm US 4 dpns or preferred method of working small circumferences in the round. One size to fit head circumference: 20 – 22in

Notions Stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends, sewing thread for dressing the rib of the tam.

Techniques Standard colour-work. Using 3 or more colours. This hat is knitted in the round following charts. Left leaning decreases (ssk) and centered double decreases shapes the crown and k2tog. By changing needle size and gauge the Tam can be knit in multiple sizes.
