La Dijonnaise
This pattern is available on the knitCompanion app!
This design became an homage to everything “Dijon”. The mustard colour is vibrant and intense, yet subdued – a richness which is always welcome to brighten the season.
✥ I had the pleasure of visiting friends in Dijon, France and what a quaint town it is with its cobblestone streets and picturesque homes displaying colourful window boxes that so beautifully frame those Juliet balconies. Oh, and the food!
✥ The story behind the making of Dijon mustard is a curious one. Mustard seed grown in Canada is exported to France and once processed into Dijon mustard, it’s then imported into Canada as a French product. Who would have thought!
La Dijonnaise pullover is accented with winding cables at the hem, cuff and neckline. The design, with its subtle A-line shaping, modified drop shoulder and sweetheart neckline provides for a more fitted silhouette. The sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up to the armhole shaping and then worked flat to the shoulders.
DESIGN NOTE
A consistent look and fit across all nine sizes is accomplished with slight modifications in the shaping and construction of this #sizeinclusive design, the initial sleeve cap is therefore worked with short rows for sizes 5-9.
