Any yarn suitable for specified gauge (heavy fingering or light sport weight)
I recommend a quality with a good “blocking memory” (to avoid the garter section to “spring back” and shrink in length which might happen with a high-twist yarn).

Estimated yardage:
approximately 1045-1110-1200-1335-1470-1605m / 1150-1220-1320-1470-1615-1765 y
Calculate +50-60m/55-65y % for the A-shape version and 100-150m / 110-165y for the optional collar.
Differences in gauge and yarn choice may affect the amount of yardage used.
