Labyrinth Shawl
This shawl was designed for the 2019 Lenten KAL. The shawl is a labyrinth created by striping two different yarns, one that acts like a path and one that acts like the hedge enclosing the path. Labyrinths have been used for millennia for prayer and focus, something needed during Lent.
The labyrinthine path is created through short rows and slipped stitches. It’s based on the half pi shawl plan but is more bell-shaped due to the short rows.
The pattern uses 600 and 400 yards of two different colors DK yarns, but in all honesty, you can use any yarn size as long as you use bigger needles. Just take the difference into account in terms of yardage.
The pattern is written so that you can keep increasing and knitting as long as you have yarn and patience. With the DK yarns, the washed and blocked gauge is 3.5 stitches to the inch, but that might be different with different weights of yarn.
The pattern is available on my website as well under the Knitting tab.
