A cowl knit in in the round using a weaving technique to create accents.

Written for two Aran/Bulky weight yarns. Notes included for converting pattern to other weight yarns. This pattern was inspired by the pattern Carbon by Tayler Harris (Shibui Knits)

Difficulty Level: Intermediate/advanced

Size: Approximately 30 inches around the bottom and 24 inches around the top with a length of about 19 inches.

Yarn:2 100g ball of the main color (120 yards per ball) and 1 50g ball of a contrast color for the weaving (approximately 60 yards) in Aran/Bulky weight. See note under Gauge for modifying the pattern when using a worsted or lighter weight yarn.

The model used Ella Rae Cozy Alpaca Chunky, main color deep purple 515 and contrast color Allium 538.

Needle: One 24 inch US 10 or size to achieve gauge.

Gauge: 13 stitches in 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Note: if your yarn gives you more stitches per inch (worsted or lighter weight yarn), calculate the number of stitches required for 30 inches. Adjust the number until it is 4 times (25 stitches plus n times 2). In each section of the pattern add the extra stitches on either side of the lace section (stitch 9 and 17).

Notions: 4 markers, 4 yarn bobbins
